How Many PVC Profiles Fit in a Container or Truck?

Published On: September 21, 2026

When importing PVC window and door profiles from Turkey, one of the most important logistics questions is:

How many PVC profiles can be loaded into a container or truck?

The answer depends on several factors, including profile weight, profile length, package dimensions, packing method and the type of transport equipment.

For PVC profile exporters and importers, accurate loading planning is important because it helps optimize transport costs, loading capacity and shipping efficiency.

PVC Profile Container Loading

PVC profiles are commonly transported in 20 ft and 40 ft containers for international shipments.

A standard 20 ft dry container has an internal length of approximately 5.9 meters and a volume of around 33 m³. A 40 ft standard container is approximately 12 meters long and has around 67 m³ of internal volume. Actual payload limits vary according to the specific container and carrier.

For PVC profiles, however, the limiting factor is not always the maximum container payload. Profile package dimensions and loading configuration can become equally important.

Typical PVC Profile Loading Capacity

Based on our loading experience, the following figures can be used as a practical reference:

Transport PVC Profile Packs Profile Length Approx. Pieces Total Meter Approx. Weight
20 FT Container 230 – 260 5.80m 1,150–1,300 pcs 7,500 m 9,500 kg
40 HC Container 530 – 550 5.95m 2,650–2,750 pcs 16,400 m 20,500 kg
Truck / TIR 570 – 600 6.50m 2,850–3,000 pcs 19,300 m 24,000 kg

These figures are approximate and may vary depending on the PVC profile system, profile weight, package dimensions and loading method.

20 FT Container Loading

A 20 ft container is commonly preferred for smaller PVC profile orders.

Depending on the profile and packaging configuration, approximately 230–260 packages can be loaded, corresponding to around 7,500 meters of PVC profiles and approximately 9,500 kg in the loading plan above.

For buyers ordering a smaller quantity, a 20 ft container can therefore provide an efficient solution.

40 FT Container Loading

A 40 ft container provides significantly more loading space than a 20 ft container.

Our reference loading plan allows approximately 530–550 packages, corresponding to around 16,400 meters of PVC profiles and approximately 20,500 kg.

For larger export orders, this can help reduce the transportation cost per meter of profile.

PVC Profile Truck / TIR Loading

For road transportation, a truck or TIR can carry approximately 570–600 packages according to our reference loading plan.

With 6.50-meter profile lengths, this represents approximately 19,300 meters of PVC profiles and around 24,000 kg.

Actual road transport capacity may vary according to the trailer type, axle limits and regulations applicable to the route.

Why Is Loading Planning Important?

Correct loading planning helps exporters and importers:

  • Optimize container and truck capacity
  • Reduce transportation costs
  • Avoid unused loading space
  • Prevent overloading
  • Plan production according to shipping requirements
  • Estimate the approximate quantity per shipment

For international shipments, the actual equipment specification and applicable weight restrictions should always be confirmed before loading.

For example, Maersk provides specific dimensions and payload information for different container types, while container specifications can vary between equipment series.

Loading PVC Profiles for International Export

At Turkish PVC Profile, we understand that successful PVC profile export is not only about manufacturing the product. Packaging, loading and logistics planning are also important parts of the export process.

We work with international customers to plan PVC profile shipments according to the required quantity, profile length, packaging configuration and transportation method.

For information about international delivery terms such as EXW, FCA, FOB, CFR and CIF, the official ICC Incoterms® 2020 rules provide the standard framework for defining responsibilities, costs and risks between buyers and sellers.

Conclusion

Choosing the right transport method and planning the loading correctly can make a significant difference in the overall cost of importing PVC profiles.

Whether you are shipping one 20 ft container, a 40 ft container or a full truck, understanding the approximate loading capacity helps you plan your PVC profile order more efficiently.
